Atlanta’s Nerdkween Rocks and Rules Austin
Nerdkween is Monica Arrington, whose unique style of indie pop—utilizing analog/lo-fi instrumentation to accompany her gentle yet commanding voice—impresses growing audiences. Arrington’s organic recordings, like debut LP Synergy (Stickfigure Records, 2008) and ProfitandLoss (2010), are full of melancholic ponderings and reflective revelations that meet with empathic ears, challenged minds, and uplifted hearts. Arriving from Atlanta, Georgia this week, Nerdkween performs an official SXSW showcase at Stephen F’s Bar in Austin, Texas Saturday, March 19.
